How we collect, use, and protect your information.
Last updated: September 5, 2026
In God You Trust (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “the Site”) operates ingodyoutrust.org and related pages. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, the choices you have, and the safeguards we apply. This policy applies to all visitors and users of the Site.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
We collect information you voluntarily submit through our forms, intake questionnaires, consultations, and communications, which may include:
- Identifiers such as your first and last name, middle name, suffix, preferred name, and any historical name variations.
- Contact details including email address, phone number, mailing address, county, and preferred method and time of contact.
- Historical information you choose to share, such as prior addresses, business and entity history, known EIN history, fiduciary or representative history, court or administrative proceedings, and prior records requests.
- Trust and estate information you voluntarily provide, including whether you have a trust, the trust name, date established, your capacity, and whether the trust has an EIN.
- Payment information such as the package selected, payment method reported, amount, date, and payment reference. We do not collect or store full card numbers on this Site; card data, where applicable, is handled by our payment processor.
- Message content from contact forms, intake notes, certification responses, and any other communications you send us.
1.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we or our service providers may collect:
- Device and browser information, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, operating system, and browser type.
- Usage data such as pages visited, time on page, referring URLs, interaction with forms and buttons, and timezone detected from your browser.
- Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies. We use these to remember your form entries (for example, to restore a partially completed intake form on the same device), to operate the Site, and to measure traffic.
1.3 Information from other sources
We may receive information from our calendar, email, and form-service providers when you book an appointment, opt in to a video, or submit a form. We use this only to provide the service you requested.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Site and its services;
- Respond to your inquiries, schedule consultations, and send appointment confirmations and reminders;
- Process intake submissions, review your information, and prepare the materials or packages you have requested;
- Verify payments, manage your engagement, and communicate with you about status and next steps;
- Send educational content, video access, and follow-up messages you have opted in to receive;
- Improve our content, forms, and user experience, and analyze how the Site is used;
- Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, abuse, and security concerns;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights and the terms governing the Site.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA / UK / Switzerland)
For individuals in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we process personal data under the following lawful bases:
- Consent — where you opt in, such as receiving marketing emails or video access;
- Contract — to take steps before entering into, and to perform, our engagement with you;
- Legal obligation — where required by law;
- Legitimate interests — for site security, fraud prevention, and improving our services, balanced against your rights.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
We use essential local storage to save your progress on multi-step forms (such as the FOIA Vault intake) on your device so you can return and continue. This data is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted unless you submit the form. We may also use analytics cookies to understand traffic. You can clear local storage and cookies through your browser settings at any time, which will remove any saved form drafts.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
- Service providers who act on our behalf to host the Site, manage forms and surveys, send email and SMS, manage our calendar and bookings, and process payments. These providers are obligated to use the information only to provide their services to us and to keep it confidential.
- For your requests — for example, submitting a records request to a government agency on your behalf when you have engaged us to do so and authorized it.
- Legal compliance — where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to confidentiality and this policy.
- With your consent or at your direction.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide the services you requested, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Local form drafts saved on your device remain until you submit the form, clear them, or clear your browser storage. You may request deletion of your information as described in Section 8.
7. Data Security
We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. Sensitive materials and secure supplements are handled through restricted, unlisted access provided only by authorized link. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should avoid submitting information you are not comfortable providing and should not submit sensitive identifiers (such as Social Security numbers) through standard site forms.
8. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate information;
- Request deletion of your personal information;
- Request that we limit or stop certain processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting processing already carried out);
- Request a portable copy of the data you provided;
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
8.1 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected, the sources, the business purpose, and the categories of third parties to whom it is disclosed; may request deletion; and may opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information as defined by California law.
9. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our services and providers are located. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers, including standard contractual clauses.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no uniform standard for how these signals should be interpreted, we do not currently respond to them in a different way. We do honor standard opt-out mechanisms for marketing communications.

13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be communicated through the Site or by email where appropriate. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
